5th Annual
Brittanie Brown
Mission Scholarship
Luncheon
Sunday, September 19, 2010
Noon
Immediately following morning worship a taco luncheon and all the fixings will be served. Monies collected from this luncheon are used to assist in sending missionaries around the globe. This is the fifth year that our church family celebrates the life of Brittanie Brown.
Brittanie grew up at FBC and surrendered her life early to the Lord and to the mission field. In December 2005 as Brittanie was preparing to leave for a mission trip, her life was cut short in a fatal auto accident. To honor Brittanie our church voted to establish a fund in her honor. To date, some twenty individuals have been blessed with assistance from these funds.
Please mark your calendar and plan to join the Brown family, your church family, and friends from around the state.
Also, if you know of someone in the FBC family that has served on the mission field, please let Denise Meyer know. We hope to create a history of mission work by FBC members.

Building and Grounds
Everyone needs to give a pat on the back to Larry Head and Patrick Minor for the incredible job they are doing on the landscaping for the whole block. I used to think I knew what I was doing, and now I find out how it’s really done. We completed a ramp for the Blisard family that went very well. I thank Jimmy and Sharon Gwinn, James Lane, and Danny Blisard. I wouldn’t have made it without them. Glen supplied the stories. I believe we are heading to Abner Scott’s next. I would like to mention that the tile steps at the front of the sanctuary have strips of rough tape that are coming loose. It will take a 144’ of tape that will run about $115. I believe that it is unsafe when the tile gets wet.
Please bear with me on the thermostats. I’m still working on them. Sorry about the heat Sunday the 11th.
Our wonderful people at the Food Pantry are just too hot to hold up. Our AC compressor outside is fine but the furnace inside is too old and too small. I think we can get by with a window unit for about $300 and get by for a few more years.
Thanks for letting me serve.
Love,
Gene Franz
